Thread connects to your accounting software via OAuth 2.0. When you click Thread on a journal entry, Thread retrieves that entry's line items and your chart of accounts from your accounting software. This data is used solely to render the financial statement impact panel.
Thread does not store your accounting data. Journal entry data is retrieved on demand and held in memory only for the duration of your session. OAuth tokens are stored securely and encrypted to maintain your connection. Chart of accounts data is cached for up to 24 hours to reduce API calls and is not shared with any third party.
Thread does not collect personal data beyond what is necessary to maintain your OAuth connection. Thread does not use your data for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose other than rendering the financial statement impact of your journal entries. Thread does not train AI or machine learning models on your data.

OAuth credentials are deleted when you disconnect Thread from your accounting software. No accounting data is retained beyond your active session. Subscription and billing records are retained for as long as legally required.
Thread uses industry standard encryption for all data in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). OAuth tokens are encrypted before storage. Thread does not log OAuth tokens or accounting data.
Thread may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to the account holder. Continued use of Thread after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
